The Austrian Federal Railways maintain 5,800 kilometers of railway lines which are connected to the European train network.

The Vienna to Salzburg and Wels to Passau train lines run through Upper Austria Upper Austria as well as all trains from Vienna to Germany.

EC trains stop in Linz, Schärding, Attnang-Puchheim and Wels. Linz offers regular connecting trains to Mühlviertel. In Attnang-Puchheim you can catch trains to Salzkammergut and Innviertel.
